A civil protection order can cover anything from removing someone from the household and requiring them to stay a certain number of feet away from the filer. The aggressor can be blocked from going to the child’s school or daycare or the filer’s places of employment. Communications can be blocked via phone, email and/or text as well. The civil protection order can include child visitation restrictions, such as supervised visits or no visits at all if the situation warrants it. Depending on the circumstances of the case, the filer can also get beneficial use of a house or a beneficial use of a car, or things of that nature, as well.
