When you have sole custody in Ohio, you have the right to make decisions regarding educational, medical, or religious issues for the children.
But, in a shared parenting plan it may be that you your spouse are going to communicate and cooperate, and work together on all those issues.
It may be that based on the evidence before the court, that the court may decide that, if you and your spouse are married, for instance, and you and I disagree on issues – medical, religious or educational – then, one of you might be ordered to be the final decision maker on those issues in a shared parenting plan.
The person with Sole Custody is typically going to make all the decisions.
