Luke Shaffer joined the firm as an Associate Attorney in the fall of 2020. He brings business experience having worked on the in-house legal teams for both a large retailer and a real estate developer in Columbus, Ohio. Luke assists corporate clients with entity formation, contract drafting, and contract review.
Luke works with clients in all areas of real estate law including acquisitions and transfers, homeowner’s association disputes, partition actions, liens, leasing, and evictions. He also helps clients navigate and resolve domestic relations issues including divorce, child custody, and prenuptial agreements. Luke’s background in business and accounting allows him to more fully understand the financial needs of clients and assists him in providing holistic client centered solutions.
Luke’s expertise in researching and writing allows him to effectively advocate for clients in all types of civil litigation, beginning with drafting letters and complaints and continuing through discovery, hearings, and trials. His experience leading the Ohio State Business Law Journal refined his communication skills and his ability to combine business and legal knowledge, which allows him to work closely and effectively with clients and other attorneys.
Luke resides in Grandview Heights and enjoys golfing, trying new foods, and rooting for the Ohio State Buckeyes.
