There are two types of custody in Ohio. You can have sole custody or you could have shared parenting. When you and your spouse are married with children, you have shared parenting since you both share legal and physical custody of these children during the marriage. If you are getting divorced and one of us wants sole custody, you are saying to the court that you want to get the other person out of the legal and physical sole custody relationship, and you want to change the way the relationship is between parent and child, legally.
